Garmin Edge® MTB GPS Bike Computer

Garmin’s first mountain-bike-specific GPS computer. Rugged Gorilla Glass + overmolded rubber buttons, 5Hz GPS recording, timing gates, enduro and downhill profiles, Trailforks with Forksight, MTB dynamics, 14-hour battery, just 58g. $399.99.

Our Take: The Edge MTB is the first Garmin cycling computer designed from the ground up for mountain biking — and it shows. At 58 grams with Corning Gorilla Glass and overmolded rubber buttons, it’s built to survive crashes, mud, rocks, and rain that would punish other computers. The 5Hz GPS recording captures trail lines with five times the detail of standard GPS, the timing gates feature turns any trail into a timed course, and the enduro/downhill profiles intelligently separate climbing and descending data. Trailforks with Forksight means you always know what’s ahead at every junction. At $399.99, it’s the most affordable current-generation Edge. The trade-offs are real, though. The 2.13-inch transflective display (240×320) is small — fine for data fields during a descent, but limiting for map reading and navigation. There’s no touchscreen, no Wi-Fi, no speaker, no Garmin Pay, and several training features found on other Edge models (Power Guide, Cycling Ability, Cycling Coach plans) are missing. If you ride primarily mountain bike and want a tough, compact, trail-focused computer at the best price, the Edge MTB is the clear choice. If you split time between road and trail, or need a bigger screen for navigation, consider the Edge 550 at $499.99 (larger 2.7″ screen, all x50 features, same MTB profiles) or the Edge 850 at $599.99 (touch + buttons, speaker, Garmin Pay). If battery life is paramount, the Edge 840 at $449.99 delivers 26 hours of demanding use — nearly double the MTB.

Edge MTB — Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Edge MTB different from the Edge 550?

The Edge MTB is purpose-built for mountain biking. It has a smaller, more rugged body (50.4×77.8×19.8 mm, 58g vs. 54.6×92.2×16.8 mm, ~110g), overmolded rubber buttons that resist mud and grit, Corning Gorilla Glass for crash resistance, and includes both an MTB handlebar mount and a top tube mount in the box. The Edge 550 has a larger 2.7-inch transmissive LCD (420×600, 1,000 nits) vs. the MTB’s 2.13-inch transflective TFT (240×320). The 550 adds Cycling Coach plans, on-device weather radar overlays, road surface type, and Wi-Fi. Both share 5Hz GPS, Trailforks with Forksight, timing gates, enduro/downhill profiles, and GroupRide. The 550 costs $499.99 vs. $399.99 for the MTB.

Does the Edge MTB have a touchscreen?

No. The Edge MTB uses 7 overmolded rubber buttons exclusively. No touchscreen. This is a deliberate design choice: buttons work reliably with muddy gloves, in rain, and resist accidental presses during rough descents. The overmolded rubber seals out mud and grit that can work into traditional button mechanisms.

Is the Edge MTB only for mountain biking?

No. It has road, gravel, indoor, and eBike profiles in addition to the MTB-specific enduro, downhill, and eEnduro profiles. It tracks VO2 max, training status, recovery time, and supports structured workouts. However, some features found on other Edge models are missing: no Power Guide, no Cycling Ability classification, no Wi-Fi, and no ClimbPro Explore (it does have standard ClimbPro). If you ride mostly road and occasionally trail, the Edge 550 or 840 may be a better all-rounder.

How tough is the Edge MTB?

Very tough. The display uses Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch and impact resistance. The body is fibre-reinforced polymer with a silicone overmold coating. All 7 buttons are overmolded rubber to seal out mud, grit, and debris. IPX7 water resistance (submersion to 1m for 30 minutes). The mount is designed to be replaceable if damaged in a crash. At 58g, it’s also light enough that a crash impact carries less force than a heavier unit.

What are timing gates?

Timing gates let you place up to 10 virtual split points along a trail. Once set, the Edge MTB automatically records split times each time you ride through them. Real-time feedback shows green (faster) or red (slower) vs. your previous best. This turns any trail into a personal race course with instant delta times — useful for training, line optimization, and unofficial race practice. Requires 5Hz GPS mode (enduro or downhill profiles).

What’s in the box?

Edge MTB GPS bike computer, MTB handlebar mount (out-front/over-stem, adjustable), top tube mount with strap, tether, USB-C charging/data cable, and documentation. The top tube mount is a new design that can bolt to frame bosses or strap to tubes. No heart rate monitor, speed, or cadence sensors included — sold separately.

How does the battery life compare?

The Edge MTB gets 14 hours in demanding use and 26 hours in battery saver mode. That’s comparable to the Edge 550 and 850 (12h/36h) in demanding use but shorter in saver mode. The Edge 840 has the best battery at 26h demanding / 42h saver. For most trail riding sessions (2–6 hours), the MTB’s 14 hours is more than sufficient. Multi-day bikepacking with navigation may require overnight charging or a power bank.

This Pillow Is A Must Buy!! What Are You Waiting For?
Size: Queen (Pack of 1)
This is, without a doubt, the best pillow I have ever owned. One of my favorite features is the adjustable shredded memory foam fill, which allows you to customize the loft and firmness by adding or removing foam to suit your sleeping preferences. As both a side and back sleeper, I found it incredibly comfortable and supportive. The overall quality is excellent, from the materials used in the pillow itself to the thoughtful packaging. The removable cover is washable, although I personally use a pillowcase to keep it protected. I also appreciated that extra foam is included, making it easy to fine-tune the pillow over time. The difference in my sleep quality was noticeable from the very first night. I’ve been sleeping more comfortably and waking up feeling more rested ever since I started using it. Considering the quality, comfort, and customization options, I believe the $75 price point is well worth it. I am so impressed with this pillow that I plan to purchase another one in the future.

This is a high-quality, well-designed pillow that combines softness, comfort, and adjustability
Size: Queen (Pack of 1), Size: Queen (Pack of 1)
I purchased the DreamyBlue Signature Adjustable Pillow for my husband because he often experiences back discomfort, and many of the pillows we had previously would become flat and lose their support over time. This pillow has exceeded our expectations. It is incredibly soft, comfortable, and comes with extra filling, which allows you to adjust the firmness to your personal preference. We really appreciated having that option. Even after extended use, the pillow has maintained its shape much better than other pillows we've owned. It provides a plush, cozy feel while still offering good support. My husband finds it very comfortable, and it has quickly become his favorite pillow. This is a high-quality, well-designed pillow that combines softness, comfort, and adjustability. I would definitely recommend it.

Finally Found a Pillow Worth Keeping
Size: Queen (Pack of 1)
I genuinely feel like I’ve tried every pillow on the market. At one point, I thought Amazon was going to flag my account because I bought and returned so many pillows trying to find the right one. This is the only pillow that made the cut. The shredded memory foam filling makes a huge difference because the pillow is both soft and supportive, while still being adjustable to fit the way you sleep. It arrives extremely full and plush, and it even comes with an extra bag of fill, which honestly surprised me. I ended up removing about half of the filling to get it exactly how I wanted it. I’m a side/stomach sleeper, which can make finding a good pillow difficult since most are either too thick or too flat. This one was perfect because I could shape it exactly how I sleep. It stays cool throughout the night, has a slightly heavier premium feel, and feels much higher quality than most pillows I’ve tried. Super comfortable, supportive, and customizable. I would absolutely recommend it and would definitely buy it again

A bit expensive
Size: Queen (Pack of 1)
Waited to give a review on this one because I needed several nights before I had any idea if it was as good as everyone says. I've had a real problem finding pillows lately. Either they're too soft to provide support and I wake up with a stiff neck or they're too sturdy and I wake up with a stiff neck. Contour pillows have worked best for me, but they fall under the category of too sturdy. I also toss and turn too much at night, which means I always end up in an awkward position with contour pillows. So I took a chance on an obscenely expensive pillow, and yes, that is the reason for one less star. I'd happily pay $70 for a pillow I thought was amazing and comfortable and perfect, but this one wasn't quite it. It IS comfortable. I have slept on it for a month now without it making my neck stiff, so it does actually provide a good balance between soft and sturdy. They make it easy to stuff the pillow to your preferred fluffiness and even provide extra stuffing if you need it, which adds to the degree of comfort. While the pillow does provide good neck support, I toss and turn a bit trying to find a comfortable position when I first try to sleep. The stuffing within the pillow moves around at night, most notably shifting to the side and the pillow is notably flatter now than when I first purchased it. You can fluff it out, similarly to a down pillow, but it doesn't seem to retain its shape on its own. In some ways, that's good because what it does instead is try to retain a shape that fits you. So yes, this is a really good pillow. One of the better ones you can buy. But it's really expensive for a pillow.

Best pillow I've ever had
Size: Queen (Pack of 1)
I don't really write reviews but holy buckets, Batman. This pillow is legit. Back, neck, and shoulder pain is nothing new for me; I've had scoliosis since I was a kid and hyperflexibility in my neck since birth leading to frequent muscle spasms that have caused me to miss work. Guys. This pillow. It is the most comfortable pillow I've ever had. Like, my neck doesn't hurt and I genuinely didn't remember what that felt like. It's simultaneously supportive and soft and it doesn't sink in. The instructions are super clear to understand and the pillow fluffs up no problem if it gets a little flat. This is a game changer for me and I so hope anyone who buys this has the same experience.
